Dr. Siddhartha Pati, the founder and executive director of the Association for Biodiversity Conservation and Research (ABC),bioconservation.org, an organization actively works towards the conservation of Horseshoe crab. He was among three from Asia who received the Future Conservationist Award given by the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) in 2018. The annual award supports the work of early-career conservationists for over 25 years. CLP is a partnership that includes the Wildlife Conservation Society, Fauna & Flora International, BirdLife International, and Conservation International. He has also received the Biju Patnaik Award for Wildlife Conservation” (2017) from the forest department, Govt of Odisha.
His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for study on Biotechnology, Marine Bioprospecting, Food Science, Biodiversity conservation. He has to credit 30 numbers of publications in National and International journals. He has also presented his research at national and international scientific events, seminars and conferences related to Biodiversity and ecology. Dr. Pati has successfully executed several internationally funded research & conservation projects as Project Investigator funded by Rufford Foundation UK, Bin Zayed Species Conservation fund UAE, Conservation Leadership Programme UK, WWF India, Ideawild. He has been working as an active member of IUCN SSC Horseshoe crab specialist group.
